1. 8Hands. The desktop application organizes your social networking profiles (such as Facebook, WordPress, Flickr, Twitter and YouTube) into one place. It sends you notifications when you receive new comments, messages, friend requests or videos; generates summaries and statistics on your social networking activities; and features a chat window where you can drag and drop YouTube videos or Flickr pictures to share with others.

2. Atomkeep. This service allows you to import, synch and merge your profile data from a wide variety of sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Digg and Plurk. It also makes updating pieces of information-such as your e-mail address-across several platforms quite easy: Update that specific field in your Atomkeep profile (instead of visiting each site individually) and push it to all or select sites. 3. FriendBinder.FriendBinder aggregates your existing friends from your networks and displays them in a single stream of information. FriendBinder also displays trending topics and threads Twitter conversations, making them easier to follow.

4. FriendFeed. This tool displays a personalized, real-time feed of what your friends are sharing on various social media and social networking sites. You can comment or "like" items that appear in your feed, and have real-time conversations with your friends about the posts. You also may choose from a list of over 50 sites that you may belong to, and share items with your friends accordingly.

5. Ping.fm. Primarily a site that lets you update multiple statuses simultaneously, Ping.fm groups services into three categories-status updates, blogs and microblogs. You can configure the account to aggregate content from several services, including Delicious, Facebook, Laconica, LinkedIn, Twitter and WordPress.

6. Pond. The Pond social media aggregator and publishing tool allows you to follow your friends, collect information about them and share your own content. Pond also lets you merge your friends' online identities-so, for example, if your friend belongs to Twitter, Facebook and Flickr, you'll see updates from these services in one integrated time line. Pond also allows you to cross-publish information to several sites with one update.

7. Shareaholic.Shareholic is a customizable browser add-on that lets you share content with over 60 social networking sites. By clicking the Shareaholic icon, you can instantly share the page you're on (it automatically shortens the link for you). It also displays real-time trending topics, allowing you to find the latest news, videos and blogs.

Sadly, the reality is most internet marketers will fail to break even. Why? Because they don’t truly understand what is required to succeed and they lack the focus and stamina to stick at it through the learning curve.

But don’t despair, 2010 brings a fresh start and the following six strategies will help you to succeed online.

1. Do Your Research

Before you jump into an online business opportunity or marketing niche, do your research. Don’t just read sales copy. Slow down and choose carefully. Read forums, independent reviews, articles and posts until you have a solid understanding of the business or niche you are interested in.

2. Focus On Your Strengths

Analyse your strengths and use them to select your area of focus. Many people often hop from one aspect of their business to another area to another without ever mastering one technique or area.

For example if you love researching and writing then perhaps consider learning the art of article writing. Once you’ve chosen your area of focus, be like a postage stamp and stick to it until you get your results.

When you have completed your goal of say, writing x number of articles and they are performing well, you may wish to move onto a new goal such as writing your own ebook or info product. Whatever you decide to do, keep it in logical order. For example don’t focus on building capture pages for an ebook that isn’t written yet.

3. Have a Marketing Plan

Many people fail at internet marketing simply because they fail to plan.

Get a calendar and create a schedule for the entire year. In this example your first focus is article writing. Decide how many articles you want to write and by what date. Make a list of topics you wish to cover – do some research, read examples. Spend time learning what criteria your articles must meet if you are submitting to article directories.

Break down your writing into daily, weekly and monthly goals. Have a clear and precise idea of what you want achieved three months from now. Know what you want your business to look like at the end of each month and plot a chart of action to meet your goals.

4. Don’t Quit Your Day Job Until Your Business Is Flourishing

The transition phase from small business owner or employee to online entrepreneur can be tiring because you will be putting in extra hours and late nights as you build your new business. Many new internet marketers quit because they run out of money or energy or both. Minimise your risk by building your business with the security of a steady income to support you through your development phase.

However, if you don’t have an income and this is ‘do or die’ for you then don’t panic because your determination (or desperation) can be your greatest asset. Find an inner strength you never knew you had, simply because your back is against the wall. This has been the reality for many success stories.

5. Believe in Your Unique Angle and Your Ability to Succeed

Be 100% committed to your success. Success online takes time, research, commitment and a creative streak. If your belief is wavering then you’re already at a psychological disadvantage. Go into this biz knowing that you can do it better than most other marketers out there. Find your unique angle, be innovative and reinvent in order to make your niche your own. Then work out how to make people understand why your angle or opportunity is the best for them.

6. ‘Prepare’ Yourself To Succeed Online, Get An Education!

And with the new year comes a reflection on where we’ve been and where we’re going. The web has changed drastically and that changes the way we, as internet marketers, do business.
2009 Predictions: 4 1/2 out of 5 Predictions

Before rolling into 2010 predictions, let’s establish a track record – how well did I do with my 2009 predictions? Let’s see!

1. 2009 Prediction: With the “down” economy, opportunities in “make money online” will be even bigger. TRUE! The business of teaching others how to do internet marketing has grown exponentially. Ed Dale saw the biggest number of 30 Day Challenge participants ever in August while my own Crowd Mountain launched and grew exponentially in February. Big product launches, once again, broke sales records. But even folks new to the game were able to break out and do big business. There’s still more room than ever in this market.
2. 2009 Prediction: Data portability becomes more a norm rather than an exception. TRUE! You’ll be hard pressed to find a new social service these days and not have it integrate with Facebook, Twitter, and/or Gmail to port your current contacts into your new profile.
3. 2009 Prediction: Using video as part of the sales process will become a necessity. TRUE! I’ve continued to run tests, and a salespage with video has outperformed a salespage without video every time. Simply put, if you’re not using video, you’re leaving money on the table.
4. 2009 Prediction: People will bring more focus to their social media marketing efforts. FALSE! I wish this were true, and I could probably call it true without any arguments from readers, but it’s just not. I still get messages nearly every day with people overwhelmed by the vast array of social media sites, and while I think many folks “get it” there are still many who don’t. So I’ll shout it from the rooftops one more time: Pick 2-3 social media sites that are active in your niche and focus on them rather than spreading yourself too thin across every available network!
5. 2009 Prediction: As a product owner or a niche leader you’ll be expected to be available, responding and engaging with your “tribe” more often than not. TRUE! People want to know you’re available to them more than ever, and those that are tend to rise to the top.

Drumroll please…. Here are my 2010 internet marketing and social media predictions:
Location, Location, Location

Many folks are claiming location based services, like BriteKite and FourSquare will be the breakout hits of 2010. I disagree. Location WILL become increasingly important in 2010, but for mass adoption, these services will have to be rolled into existing, already adopted platforms, like Facebook and Twitter.

My mom lives in Oakland and works in San Francisco (two areas where loacation based services have really great data from their users). Would she EVER use something like FourSquare? No. Would she use it if it was integrated into Facebook? You betcha.

I live in a little mountain town of 900 people. I can’t really even use these location based services – my town is literally not on the map! Would I be interested in my local Facebook friends (most of the locals I know are on Facebook exclusively) location info? Absolutely! Can I get it anywhere else? Nope.

The digerati and web wunderkinds aside, most folks don’t have the time and interest in creating and maintaining another social profile.

After recording this prediction on IMTW last night, rumors started flying that Google was in talks to buy Yelp, a local business reviews site. It’s speculated that Yelp data could be integrated with Google Maps.

And this is where I predict successful location based services will go in 2010: merged into already existing products that have been adopted by the masses.
The Death of Software Downloads

We’ve already seen it with services like Google Docs and Gmail – why keep files or email on our harddrives when we can keep them on the web and access them anywhere?

I made the switch in 2009 to storing as much of my data as possible online, so it doesn’t matter where I am or which computer I’m on, I have access to everything I need.

It makes sense from a user standpoint in terms of being able to work with the software wherever you are. But it also makes sense from a business standpoint:

* Updates are server-side and seamless for the user, no re-downloading a re-installing (which inevitably leads to customer support issues)
* Web based applications work on Mac or PC – you’re not leaving a giant segment of your market behind
* It’s easier to find web developers
* Less compatibility problems with different operating systems and conflicts with already installed programs which leads to less customer support issues
* Allows for a recurring access charge

We’ve seen some movement in this direction in the internet marketing space in 2009, and in 2010 web-based software (aka “cloud computing”) will become the norm.
Link Popularity Gets Social

While simply having links on social media properties was once enough to boost your search engine ranking, in 2010 the popularity of those links will become a bigger ranking factor.

Consider this scenario:

Two blog posts on the same topic. One is retweeted a gazillion times, is linked all over Facebook and has a ton of comments. One gets little traction in the social media space. Which one do you think *should* rank higher in the SERP’s? The one that people shared the most!

The easiest way to achieve this is…. producing great content that people will want to share. You can also encourage people to share your content by using the tips in The Three Pillars of Social Media Marketing.
Social Media Marketing Matures

In 2010 social media marketing will mature in a variety of ways.

Firstly, we’ll move away from conversations about why one should be using social media in your marketing towards *how* to use social media in your marketing. It will be assumed that a social media presence is necessary, and we’ll see more instruction on exactly what to do.

We’ll also see more focus in how businesses use social media. Rather than using SM “because it’s the thing to do” we will more strategic at moving folks from social media into our sales funnels. Social media marketing will be less about “joining the conversation” and more about specifically growing your business (the “conversation” is still important, but our joining of it will be more purposeful).

Finally, our collective psyche’s will move away from a “bigger is better” mentality. Rather than valuing social media by the number of followers or fans, we’ll look more at those followers’ and fans’ engagement. 100,00 YouTube views or Twitter fans does not sell products if those folks are not engaged.
Wordpress As a True CMS

We love Wordpress, and it’ll just get bigger and better in 2010. With products like Affiliate Theme and Squeeze theme, and more flexibility with offerings like the Thesis Theme (used on this blog), Wordpress is moving more towards a true CMS that can be used for anything, without custom coding.

Building a membership site or a review/rating site or even a salespage exclusively with Wordpress has picked up steam in 2009 and will be even simpler in 2010 as developers create more plugins and themes to do so.

Products in this space will grow and our adoption of them will follow.

Here are 10 things that I believe you need to WIN BIG in Life and Business

Get Excited. People cannot handle any more negativity. They can't handle any more wimps and whiners. 90% of the population can stay excited about something for 2-3 months and then they are done with it and on to something else. 7% of the population can stay excited for 2-3 years and then they are off to something else just before they exprience TRUE success. 3% of the population can stay excited for 20 or 30 years…however long it takes to be successful. Those are the folks that win BIG. Those are the success stories that we all hear about. These are the folks that breathe life..excitement... and enthusiasm in every person they meet and into everything they do. People LOVE being around positive...enthusiastic...excited people. Be that person and others will be drawn to you like moths to a flame.

Become a Dreamer Again. You have got to have a great big fat dream that lights you up like the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. It has to be so vivid that whenever you think about it your heart starts pounding in your chest. It's the dream that keeps you awake at night trying to figure out how you are going to make it happen. If you don't have a dream like this you are dead in the water when things get tough. You will have nothing to keep you moving forward and you will quit. Make your dreams so real for yourself that you have no choice but to become the you of your dreams.

Feel GOOD About Yourself. You have got to OBLITERATE the words I CAN'T from your vocabulary. You have got to bury them and let them rest in peace. They can never fall from your lips again..they can never enter your mind again. When you banish those words of lack and limitation from your vocabulary and your mind … YOU CAN DO ANYTHING…YOU BECOME UNSTOPPABLE

Stand For Something. People are fed up with wishy-washy lookie-loos…fence sitters. People are looking for…they are demanding honest LEADERS with integrity to step up and reveal themselves…to LEAD. People are tired of the con artists…the shills who are willing to sell any kind of junk just to make a buck. People are clamoring for honesty. When you step up and stand for something, when you speak with integrity and honesty…the right people will hear you and flock to you. You become the leader that they have been searching for.

Get Used To Being Controversial. You have got to be controversial. When everyone is zigging…you need to zagging. If you are doing exactly what everyone else is doing you are average and ordinary. You are nothing more than mediocre. If you want everyone to like you…mediocre will do the trick just fine. When you choose to be controversial…you become extraordinary. Lot's of people won't like you. Get used to it. You CAN be awesome and tough at the same time. The RIGHT people will appreciate you for it. And they will join forces with you because you are singing a song that is music to their ears.

Get Totally Committed. You must be totally committed to what you are all about. You can't just try something out to see if it works for you. You can't become successful by dipping your big toe in the water to see if the temperature is just right. It's all or nothing. JUMP IN and SWIM. You have got to be committed to doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Commitment gives you the courage you need to fight back..to motivate yourself when things get tough. And trust me….things will get tough. Things will not always work out the way that you want them to. Commitment gives you the strength you need to pick yourself up for the 8th time right after you have fallen flat on your butt 7 times. It gives you the strength to talk to one more person after 100 have said NO to you. It gives you the strength to learn the skills that you need to master a new piece of technology. Commitment gives you confidence…it strengthens your faith in yourself and what you are doing.

Treat People Right. You have got to treat people right. You have got to LOVE people. You have got to CARE about them. You got to be willing to get burnt once in a while so that you can show people how GREAT they really are. Everyone wants to be SOMEBODY. Everyone wants to know that they are IMPORTANT. Everyone wants to know that they are VALUABLE. Everyone wants to be APPRECIATED. When you choose to speak a person's GREATNESS INTO THEM. When you choose to show someone just how IMPORTANT THEY ARE, you just became the miracle that they are looking for.

Have The Right Priorities. You have to have the right priorities. You are a holistic being. Your life must be in balance. Tunnel vision doesn't cut it. If you have a lousy spiritual life…or a lousy personal life…ultimately your business will pay the price for your imbalance. YOU are your business. If you are not thriving personally or spiritually…it will show up in your business sooner or later. The healthier you are…the healthier your business is. Take the time to work on all areas of your life. Your business will thrive becaue of it.

Have The Heart of a Champion. You have got to have the heart of a champion. The desire and will to win is EVERYTHING. You have got to get FIRED UP and STAY FIRED UP. You are here to make a difference with your life. You have got to be willing to pay the price and a little bit more that success demands of you to win. You have got to be mentally tough and you can never…ever quit. QUITTERS NEVER WIN and WINNERS NEVER QUIT.

Be A Leader. You have got to be a leader. Leadership is EVERYTHING. This world desperately needs leaders. Leaders make things happen…they JUST DO IT. "Almost" is a lifestyle for most people…I almost did this….I almost did that… Winners DO IT…Leaders DO IT. They do whatever it takes to get the job done…they do whatever it takes to win. They roll up their sleeves..they hunker down and they just do it…and do it..and do it..and do it…until the job gets done !! Get rid of the excuses… get rid of the I can'ts…banish the I don't want to's…and just DO IT.

The Law of Attraction is an extremely powerful influence in your home based internet business. All of your results both positive and negative are directly related to the influence of this law. The law of attraction simply means what you give is what you get. If you operate with a mindset of fear or worry, or you are focused only on what you can get for yourself it will be extremely difficult to make any progress in this very competitive environment of online business. Your focus may be on making a lot of money fast and this may be for a number of reasons. Getting out of debt is one of the main reasons people want to earn money fast but if the mindset is all about self the going will be tough.

If on the other hand you are genuinely focused on helping others achieve their dreams you may be surprised to witness the monetary benefits. This should also be the focus of the leaders in your internet marketing business. Unfortunately too many online businesses are focused on wealth creation for the people at the top. This is not a healthy model to be involved with.

I witnessed an interesting example of how the law of attraction can have a negative outcome while out walking this week. A woman on a mobility scooter was driving along the footpath I was on when she spotted a car parked across the path in front of her. She shouted out to me asking me “who owns that car?” I was somewhat bemused as of course I had no idea. She went on to rant about how inconsiderate people were always doing things to make her life difficult. Having some sympathy for her predicament and having noticed there was plenty of room for her to pass safely behind the car I offered to step onto the road to slow any traffic and to make any motorists aware she was going around the car. “No, I will not” she said and with that she pulled out her cellphone and dialed a towing company. She was prepared to sit and wait for half an hour in order to punish an individual she didn't know for a transgression they would have had no idea they had made. Absolutely surprising! I knocked on the door of a nearby house and the very apologetic owner moved the car under a storm of ugly abuse.

The whole situation got me thinking about how this woman is continually inviting misfortune with her aggression and unpleasantness and how her life could be a whole lot better if she wasn't angry at everyone around her and if she didn't look for ways to hurt or punish others. This of course will not happen. She will probably vent on some talkback radio station or write scathing letters to papers the whole time pitying herself for her terrible situation.

It is almost a shock to meet someone like this as I am so used to working with an incredibly positive and giving group of entrepreneurs. The people I work with are constantly giving to others. One of my mentors has a saying “Do something really good for someone today and do it in the knowing that they could never repay you and watch this world become a better place!” Absolute genius really

Go and visit some of the top classified sites on the Internet. Simply do a search on Google, Yahoo or MSN, if you aren't familiar with any. Visit the work-at-home, and business opportunity sections. Write down their email addresses and simply request more information. But before you do, write your email signature as a small ad. Never attempt to sell them anything in the body of your email, this might be considered spam. Just simply ask for more information and create an enticing tag line as your email signature. You may want to create a separate email account for this.

e-book to popular free ebook directories. You can find a ton of them by doing a search on the Internet for free e--book directories. You'll find a bunch.

Is Building Strong Relationships Really A Learnable Skill?

The answer is YES! It’s just like baking a cake… if you know all the ingredients that someone used to bake a yummy cake, then YOU can bake the exact same cake. You just have to know what to do and you can create the same success as them.

I’m going to go through the steps on what it takes to build these strong relationships. If you refer to this list often and really put this stuff into action, you will see a SHIFT in the direction of your business… and that direction is UP!

The 4 Keys To Building Strong Long Lasting Relationships:

Key #1: Always come from a place of GIVING and adding VALUE

It’s really funny… I see all of these network marketers running around online slamming their business opportunities down everyone’s throats. Did they ever look up what the word ‘networking’ means? The definition is ‘The cultivation of productive relationships for business’.

Spamming everyone with their business opportunity does not fit anywhere in that definition! Yet if you go to Facebook or Twitter right now, the walls are filled with people telling you how they can help you make a million dollars by Friday… it’s ridiculous!

This is probably the most important key that we will go over. You want to come from a place of adding value to someone’s life. People like to connect and follow people that help them and contribute to the growth of their life. Be giving of information that will make a difference in their life. You don’t always have to sell someone something to help them. Ooooh, that’s a big lesson to learn. When an entrepreneur’s ‘GIVING’ becomes more than the price they are asking for their goods or service, then they’ve arrived… as a true entrepreneur.

Think about this for a minute… Who in your life do you look up to and respect? Do they come from a place of ‘take’ within your relationship? Or do they contribute to you and add value to your life? We all know this stuff because these are the people that we are ‘attracted’ to, but sometimes we’re just not conscious of it when we’re out there mingling online.

Key #2: Create TRUST between you and your prospects, business partners, etc.

Trust is everything! I don’t know how else to say it. People don’t join companies, people join PEOPLE. They do business with people they know, like and TRUST. For there to be a strong relationship, trust is vital. Without it you have nothing.

Your prospects want to know that they can trust you to guide them in the right direction. There are so many people online scamming people today; they want to make sure you aren’t one of them.

You can build trust by ALWAYS following through on what you say you’re going to do. Integrity and Authenticity baby! If you tell someone that you’re going to call them Wednesday at 6:30PM… guess when you should call them? Wednesday at 6:25PM… early! I get people telling me they will call me at that time and then my phone rings at 8:30PM. Right there they’ve lost my trust because they didn’t keep to their word.

Goes back to the old saying… ‘Say what you will do, and do what you say’

Key #3: Learn To Become A Good Listener

There is nothing more ANNOYING than when you’re speaking and someone is talking over you. Or they just aren’t present in the conversation because they are doing something else. Everyone has a million things to do, and they are parading around saying what a good multi tasker they are. You can only focus on one thing at a time… if you are speaking with someone and you start doing something else while you’re talking with them, you are no longer focused.

I can tell when I’m on the phone with someone having a conversation and they’re just not paying attention. Maybe their checking their email, reading Facebook messages or tweeting. I know you’ve had this happen to you? And I know that you’ve done this to other people as well!

People can tell when someone isn’t present and listening to what they are saying. People want to be heard… they really do! When having a conversation with someone, step away from your computer or whatever you are doing. Give them your undivided attention…. or don’t have the conversation at that moment. Pick one! You’re energy is split and the person on the other end can feel it as some level of their being.

Focus intently and listen to the messages conveyed behind and between words. Powerful listening connects us emotionally to whoever we are speaking with.

Key #4: Be Yourself… Act Authentically

Don’t try to be someone you’re not. There is so much POWER in being yourself! When you come from an authentic place, you’re honest with others as well as yourself. Authenticity is a place of freedom. When you are being ‘real’ you can connect on a very deep level with people. When you’re not, people can feel it… either consciously or unconsciously.

If you’re not being you, then you’re creating relationships on fluff. This isn’t the type of foundation that long term business relationships are made of… and that’s what you’re out here for, to build long term relationships, right?

If you learn to practice these skills, you will see a MAJOR INCREASE in your business. You will notice a difference in the way people interact with you. People will all of a sudden be ‘attracted’ to you and will want to join you in business or buy from you. You’ll wonder where all of these people have been hiding all this time!

One thing to keep in mind, DO NOT under-estimate these tips… Don’t let the simplicity fool you! The skill of building relationships is the KEY reason why some will succeed and some will never achieve their dreams.

Most people will go from one business opportunity to the next, thinking the company they were with was the reason they didn’t succeed. When you come to realize that people join you in your business because you have created a relationship with them that is authentic with deep levels of trust, you can jump into ANY company and be successful!

Let me give you some examples…

I really want you to get this! So what I’m going to do is point out a few friends in the industry, who are leaders in their businesses because they are practicing these principles each and every day.

First of all, the wonderful Katie Freiling… You already know of her, since you’re reading this post on her blog. If you look closely at why you are attracted to her blog and her information, it’s because she is a true GIVER. This girl adds VALUE to her community like I’ve never seen done before!

Look at all she shares with you and everyone within her community… cutting edge marketing strategies that she is currently using, insights that have shaped her into the empowered entrepreneur that she is and the products and services that she personally uses to build her business.

If you just learn to model the way Katie contributes way beyond herself, and nothing else… you will see a drastic change in your business!

Now head over to the blog of Mr. Kary Rogney. This guy knows how to create and build TRUST with everyone around him. Kary has built a super loyal following that knows he will guide them down the path to success. Remember trust is EVERYTHING… people join and do business with people they believe in.
